One of the great spots to hit for Peeps merchandise this season is the Dollar Tree. Not only do they have a variety of unusual Peeps basket-stuffers, but they're only $1! The posters are a prime pick because they're BIG (about 12"x15") and bigger is always better. Yeah, it's cool to find a Matchbox car or a tub of Play-Doh in your Easter basket, but having a poster than can barely fit inside is more impressive solely due to the size.
There's 3 velvet designs, and 3 foil. They're each packed with 4 colored markers to decorate your poster to the style of your choosing. The markers are, expectedly, fairly weak and don't contain a lot of ink. I barely got through coloring my big Peep before my yellow ran out. I would have preferred if the markers were a little thicker like highlighters. Since the markers were so thin the coloring came out looking rough and scratchy.
I've seen a lot of commercials on TV trying to sell sets of velvet posters. But, for $6 you can have a full set of velvet AND shiny foil Peeps posters. I don't particularly see the appeal of having little black fuzzies in my artwork, but they work as great bumpers to protect you from drawing outside the lines. Chances are, one Lisa Frank will cost your $6, and I'd rather have 6 cheap Peeps posters than 1 fancy unicorn.
