I'm assuming this item is exclusive to Big Lots as the logo is actually printed on the container. A few of the similar items have stickers, but this one -- printed right on there. For those of you that have never heard of this place, Big Lots is a really nice closeout store with about 1,400 locations in the continental US. This was actually where my Peeps Quest began. I was paying a visit to my local Big Lots as they often have an excellent selection of discounted stickers and toys. It was just past Valentine's Day when I noticed a fresh supply of Easter goodies popping up. As I looked over I found a large display of 99¢ Peeps toys. At first I was mildly amused, and picked up one or two things. Next thing I know I'm dumping one of everything at the check-out and the cashier (who happened to be a former classmate) gave me sort of an amused smirk. The speedy sponges are standard dollar store-type capsules with scrunched sponges inside. Once you soak them in water they burst open and you have little tiny Peeps sponges. I was expecting a bunny and a Peep in each color, but instead got 2 pink bunnies, 2 blue bunnies, and 2 yellow peeps.
Sponge capsules are fun for all of 2 minutes while you watch them pop. After that they're just shitty good-for-nothing sponges that you stick in your shower and aren't really big enough to do anything. Well, there is one thing they're good for....
Sponge painting.
